At Fishing Gear Store, we understand that serious anglers need gear they can depend on. While we strive to provide the highest quality fishing equipment, we know that sometimes a return or exchange may be necessary. Our policy is designed to be as straightforward as casting your favorite reel.
Quick Policy Overview
- Return Window: 15 days from delivery date
- Condition: Items must be unused, in original packaging with tags
- Refund Method: Original payment method (processed within 5-7 business days)
- Shipping Cost: Customer responsible for return shipping (except for defective items)
- Non-Returnable: Certain fishing baits and accessories (see below)
Our Return & Exchange Process
Step 1: Initiate Your Return/Exchange
To begin the process, email our customer service team at [email protected] with the following information:
Step 2: Receive Return Authorization
Within 1-2 business days, we’ll email you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed instructions. Please note that returns without an RMA number cannot be processed.
Step 3: Package and Ship Your Return
Securely package the item(s) in their original packaging, including all accessories and documentation. Affix the RMA number clearly on the outside of the package. We recommend using a trackable shipping method as you’re responsible for the item until it reaches our warehouse.

Step 4: Processing Your Return
Once received, our team will inspect the returned items within 3-5 business days. You’ll receive an email notification when:
- Your refund has been processed (for returns)
- Your exchange item has been shipped (for exchanges)
Refund Information
Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 5-7 business days after we receive and inspect your return. Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped or defective product).
For exchanges, we’ll ship the replacement item via your original shipping method once the return is approved. If the exchange item is of higher value, you’ll be charged the difference; if lower value, we’ll refund the difference.
Non-Returnable Items
To protect all our anglers, certain fishing products cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons:
- Baits & Tackle: All consumable fishing baits including:
- Crankbaits
- Creature & Craw Baits
- Finesse Baits
- Grub Baits
- Hard Baits
- Frogs
- Personal Items:
- Gloves
- Gaiters
- Used or Damaged Items: Any equipment showing signs of use, wear, or improper handling
Defective or Incorrect Items
If you receive a defective product or the wrong item, contact us immediately at [email protected]. We’ll arrange for a prepaid return label and expedite your replacement at no cost to you.
International Returns
For our international customers (excluding certain Asian and remote regions), the return process is the same, but please note:
- You’re responsible for any customs fees or taxes associated with the return
- Return shipping costs are not refundable
- Processing may take additional time due to customs clearance
